Metacognition is basically thinking about thinking and it is widely considered that this mindset can positively impact on learning. We do it all the time in art education, but we sometimes don’t realise it. Hopefully this will help. It is a word document, so you can add your own comments and personalise it for you own needs.
This five minute video shows how to use the rules of perspective to draw a country scene, including road, barn, trees and telegraph poles. Ideal for use at the start of an art lesson on perspective or as a sub lesson.
This 10 minute video shows how to accurately draw a hand. Clear instructions are given and students are shown how to draw a series of simple shapes to slowly build up the overall hand structure.
